The MUJI name derives from the company’s original name in Japanese: Mujirushi Ryohin, meaning No Brand, Quality Goods. MUJI started in Japan in 1980 and now has over 1100 stores worldwide, offering various good quality, essential items for daily life, including household goods, apparel, and food. For 40 years, MUJI’s three principles in manufacturing remain unchanged: selection of materials, streamlining of processes, and simplification of packaging. In 2020, MUJI Vietnam opened its first flagship store MUJI Parkson Le Thanh Ton in Ho Chi Minh City. As of today, MUJI Vietnam has 7 stores, with 4 in Hanoi and 3 in Ho Chi Minh City. Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi, MUJI Vietnam’s newest store, opens on 28th October 2023.
